This Southern Splendors itinerary covers two of the best travel destinations of India - Tamil Nadu & Kerala.

Our guide for this tour was Miss Shanthi. Shanthi was not only knowledgeable about history and culture but I could easily call her an expert on Hindu culture, temples, heritage and monuments of India.

No wonder Tamil Nadu is a cradle of Hinduism and it would be innate to say that the state can boast to be a cradle of temples. With almost all the temples built during ancient and medieval times, a visit to these temples provided us with a profound insight into unique architectural, sculptural and artistic skills of the engineers,m and artisans of the bygone era. These temples also showcase the opulent and lavish tastes of the royal kings, be it Cholas, Pallavas or Nayakas.

Shanthi has shown us all these remarkable monuments, highlighted their origin and history and provided extremely valuable information of Indian mythology and very objective perspectives and historical descriptions. We were amazed to see her in-depth narratives that could be enticing to a beginner or a scholar. Shanthi personally knows most of the insiders, which has been very helpful to us in completing our tours without joining the queues and crowds.

Shanthi went above and beyond her assigned duties as a guide as she was loving and caring to us throughout this tour. She made sure we felt comfortable and enjoyed all our visits to the above referenced historical landmarks.
