Goa is a small state located in the Konkan region, bound between the borders of Maharashtra and Karnataka, and the Arabian Sea in the west. The coastline of Goa covers about 128 km. Portuguese ruled Goa for 450 years until it was annexed by India in 1961. Portuguese cultural influence is clearly visible in the old cities of the state.
Goa is famous for its diverse beaches, ancient monuments, mouthwatering Konkani cuisine, and places of worship. Tourism is its primary source of economy and it’s also the best party place known in India. Goa is also called the “Miami of India”.
