Chandrshila

Chandrashila is summit of the Chandranath parbat where Tungnath temple of Panch Kedar is located . Chandrashila means “Moon Rock”. It is located at a height of about 4,000 metres (13,000 ft) above sea level. This peak provides spectacular views of Himalayas, especially Nandadevi, Trisul, Kedar Peak, Bandarpunch and Chaukhamba peaks.

Legend has it that the deity Chandrama (Moon) spent a long time on the peak in penance. Rama, too, is supposed to have meditated here to atone for killing Ravana, a Brahmin. But even if you are a non-believer, the place offers many rewards.
