Located in the upper reach of Kangra valley, the hill station of Dharamshala is a paradise for nature admirers with its pine and deodar forests, beautiful streams with waterfalls, snow capped mountains and suburbs with British colonial touch makes it a perfect holiday destination. Dharamshala offers a lot of adventure activities as in trekking, boating in the Dal lake or just a stroll in the woods filled with oak, pine and deodar forests. The snow line is easily accessible at Dharamshala than any other hill station in India.
Dharamshala is also a popular destination among pilgrims of all religions as it is blessed with numerous beautiful temples, churches and Buddhist monasteries. Dharamshala was struck with a 7.8 magnitude earthquake in 1905. It regained its popularity in 1959 after the arrival of the Dalai Lama with the Exiled Tibetan Government in the town of McLeod Gang.
